Youth Engagement Specialist
Located in Mitchell, SD. Looking for Full-Time and Part-Time. The Youth Engagement Specialists spend their day using social work skills nurturing, leading group discussions. Youth Engagement Specialists (YES) have a four day work week in Social Services and Human Services field.
Cook/Housekeeper
Located in Mitchell, SD. There's nothing more important than good food and a clean home, which is exactly what the Cooks and Housekeepers at Abbott House are responsible for daily! Ensuring safety, sanitation, and nutritious meals are the most important areas of this position.
Crisis Management Team Member
Located in Mitchell, SD. Looking for full-time and part-time. No experience necessary! This social work position provides crisis and non-crisis intervention services for adolescents in a residential setting who have behavioral health issues.

Foster Family Support Specialist
Located in Mitchell, Rapid City, and Sioux Falls. Foster Family Support Specialists are like the aunts and uncles to our foster children. This position provides respite care when our foster parents are off duty. As a Foster Family Support Specialist, you will stay at the foster home overnight, serving as the "parent" of the foster home while the foster parents have days off. During this time, you will transport children to and from school and medical appointments, cook meals, keep the home space clean, assist children with homework, help with morning and night routines, and ensure the safety and appropriate supervision of all the children in the home.
Foster Parents
We are currently looking for caring people (individuals or couples) to fill the roles of foster parents in Rapid City! If you have a special place in your heart for children and want to help them overcome their past, then this is the position for you! Abbott House hires married couples to live as a family with up to 6 children in a home provided by Abbott House. These children have no safe place to call home and desperately need a stable and safe environment to grow in! We will provide training and support to ensure you feel prepared and confident working with children who have experienced trauma.
Night Youth Care Worker
Located in Mitchell, SD. This position involves supervising adolescents during overnight hours in a residential setting to ensure safety on a day to day basis.
On-Call Nurse
Located in Mitchell, SD. If you are a nurse who likes flexibility and can work 6 or more days a month, this might be the position for you! The more shifts you pick up, the larger your monthly incentive pay is. On Call nurses complete assessments after hours, holidays, and on weekends in the event of an emergency safety intervention.
Teacher Aide
The Abbott House teacher’s aide is never bored. In this position you will assist the education and treatment teams in management of client behavior as well as preparation and implementation of curriculum. TA’s also respond to crisis situations as needed. Because there are varying shifts, you may be involved in completing morning routines and helping the youth prepare for their school days.
