Program Director
Introduction
The Program Director ensures Abbott House youth and potential clients receive services that nurture physical, emotional, mental and academic progress on their healing journey. This individual also oversees all standards of conduct in delivery of residential treatment services.
Qualifications
A. Master’s Degree and licensed as a mental health counselor or 5+ years’ experience in the social services or human services field and able to be licensed.
B. Three years youth services and supervision experience.
C. Ability to teach youth care theory and practice to employees who work directly with children.
D. Knowledge of and experience with group processes and group dynamics.
E. Ability to provide leadership and direction to team members.
Responsibilities
A. Carefully assess and respond to the program’s needs as they concern individual clients, staff or the organization.
B. Implement treatment programming and develop resources that appropriately respond to fluctuating demand in a behavioral health environment.
C. Ensure that all youth are appropriately evaluated and screened for admission and once eligible are routinely assessed and placed in a timely manner in the most necessary programs and provided the resources for their needs.
D. Ensure continuity of professional services by retaining staff members who achieve objectives and complete responsibilities of the program through effective development, training, and motivation.
E. Contribute to the effective management and administration of the organization by the incisive and timely analysis of program issues and reporting of these to the Executive Director for evaluation.
F. Ensure that all internal and external statements, reports, and evaluations are prepared accurately in a timely manner.
G. Oversee all program and clinical personnel to ensure that appropriate therapeutic services are being provided to residents and their families.
H. Respond to other expectations of the Agency and/or Executive Director.
Wage Range
Full time salary is based on education and experience. A complete benefit package is included for full-time employee.
